In my small town in the maritimes-never seen so many new immigrants in all my life here. I don't like it as it feels aggressively forced -not natural. Our gvmt playing games. I went through the drive through the other day for my coffee and the person at the window was short with me, cold and rough and I was thinking I have never seen him before. I asked him how long he was in our town and he said 2mths. He came from Toronto after being there 3 years but he said the gvmt wants to grow the smaller communities so he moved here to get his permanent resident status. I don't know exactly, maybe sikh as he wears a turban ? Because I feel I have to defend myself and explain -I have friends from other nationalities, Dated different cultures so don't get me wrong. I just find a certain sect that seem-are cold and not friendly body language-eye smile, smile. I just found it interesting the attitude of being impatient, short and basically non friendly after arriving in a new town for 2 mths-in a country for 3years you say you want permanent status. I have been here all my life and I am conscience how I interact with people, I will be at least cordial if I am not having a good day but I note this regularly - like a general coldness, unappreciative or not friendly-just very cold transactional. Not all, we have pp of many other cultures, black, Filipino, Mexican etc and people are generally nice as one human to another. I don't know if it is a particular culture but I have noticed this general transactional only interaction and it always makes me feel kinda uneasy. Hard to explain. It's just a feeling of don't give a sh-t about you people kinda vibe.
