Internet Censorship To Target Private Citizen Use On Websites, Social Media, Mass Emails
From sunny ways to dark clouds of neo-communism is the path for Canadian society as long as Justin Trudeau remains prime minister-- and likely beyond.
In June 2021, Liberal Party MP and Attorney General David Lametti introduced Bill C-36 to Parliament. It proposes amendments to the Human Rights Act and Criminal Code concerning hate speech.
These amendments would apply to public communications by individual users on the Internet, including on social media, on personal websites, and in mass emails. These amendments would not apply to operators of social media platforms.
What to say about such a circumstance? The ramifications are manifold. An erosion in freedom of speech is indisputable. While mainstream media has referenced as much, democracy-eroding manifestations remain unexplored.
Key among these is an ability for government to probe the private lives of Canadian citizens. “Its authority would include the ability to send inspectors into workplaces and homes in search for documents.”
The Liberal government's proposal is “something you might expect out of China or Russia,” says the current Chairman of the Internet Society of Canada. Online privacy watchdogs are warning these Internet regulations would make Canada’s internet among the world’s most censored and surveilled.
What will it take for Canadians to recognise the cold hard truth? Our Canada-- the one PM Justin Trudeau baptized with sunny ways-- appears to be headed for black clouds of an authoritarian state.
Based on Bill C-36, government would monitor the internet for content which violates their as-yet-undefined standards, and on this basis, maintain a right to enter our homes to seize our personal computers.
Daphne Keller, Director of Stanford University Cyber Policy Center, Canada’s proposal “is like a list of the worst ideas around the world– – the ones human rights groups have been fighting in the EU, India, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, and elsewhere.”
Getting the picture? Justin Trudeau's censorship laws have potential to transition Canada to one of the most anti-free speech nations on earth. Witness the erosion of individual freedoms. Watch as Canada continues along a path of step-by-step legislative enactments leading to replication of the world's most repressive societies.
Just as importantly, let us stand witness to media never bringing together the loose threads of the agenda to weave a portrait of truth for the people of Canada.
The difference as far as social conservatives are concerned is that we recognized this inevitability the moment Justin Trudeau became prime minister. Many others would have, or could have, if media were not in cahoots with government.
"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose" sang a Liberal idealist of the 1960's. How far Liberalism has travelled since then. Justin Trudeau is correct-- the Liberal ethos is "progressive." In less than one generation, it has progressed all the way from personal freedom to neo-communism.
Parasitic govt. is sucking away democracy and leaving in its place a vacant parliament, happening NOW. Most will pay no heed while some will see it but do little and the very few will run, moving to foreign countries. Like Europeans pre WW2 they stayed only to be slaughtered believing it could never happen to them. It DOES Happen to YOU. We have a voting population that block votes having come from foreign countries that are authoritarian so they see no difference and vote for them. They have not grasped what freedom truly means. So mass immigration continues to bolster Liberals. Has Canada gone past the Tipping Point? Have we NO control in who we elect even though the POPULAR VOTE would have Ousted Trudeau??
Act now or lose what you consider Canada to be and represent. This is NO game people, it's Survival.
