Public Trust In Mainstream Media Tanks Under Trudeau
In 2016, Trudeau converted Canada to a replica of the authoritarian state media model.
As reported this week by True North News, University of Oxford’s annual report on global media has found that a "vast majority of Canadians don’t trust legacy news media."
It's a refrain Canadians have heard in the past. What we haven't heard-- certainly not from mainstream media, is commentary on how federal government media-funding has resulted in a decline of public trust in legacy media institutions.
There's a direct relationship, to be sure.
"The study surveyed trust in legacy media outlets including CBC, Global News, CTV News, CP24, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail and others."
Not one of them will draw a connection between the decline in trust and the extent to which Canada's Liberal government are funding the press. Cast aside is the concept that the greater the degree of media bias, the greater the extent of mistrust on behalf of the public.
The press would never shoot themselves in the foot by exposing the inverse relationship between public trust and degree of propaganda in the press. Those who speak of such a relationship include those who have little to lose by doing so-- alternate media, social media, bloggers, et al.
"In 2023, Canadians reported an all-time low trust level of 40%." To be interpreted as a recognition that the majority of citizens-- 60%-- do not trust our media institutions.
"Social media continues to be the top choice for Canadians when it comes to accessing news, with 69% saying they stay up to date using online sources."
Stop the press. No wonder PM Trudeau and his shaggy-haired censorship czar MP Pablo Rodriguez are working to limit freedom of speech on the internet.
Like the authoritarian political figures Trudeau admires, the name of the game is thought-control:
"Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”
-- Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propaganda Minister.
“The press is our chief ideological weapon.”
— Nikita Khrushchev, First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
Witness the thoughts of leading figures from totalitarian and communist societies of history. Has Justin Trudeau silently entrenched a similar dynamic within contemporary Canadian society?
Damn right he has. In 2016, Trudeau converted our country to a replica of the authoritarian state media model. As reported by Canadaland.com, publications such as Maclean’s, Postmedia, Torstar, Black Press and Epoch Times received funds as part of a $595 million dollar payout to media in 2020.
A list of media recipients totals nearly 1500 media companies. Everything from Western Horse Review to Canadian Punjab Times is included. From Alaska Highway News to Niagara-On-The Lake Daily, the list covers every corner of media from coast-to-coast.
CBC say nothing of the sort. Why would they, when the state broadcaster receives $1.2 billion dollars in funding every year from our Liberal government?
"The media want to maintain their intimate relation to state power. They want to get leaks, they want to get invited to the press conferences. To do that, you've got to play the game, and playing the game means telling their lies, serving as their disinformation apparatus."
-- Noam Chomsky
Hence the symbiotic relationship between the Trudeau government and the media outlets they strategically fund. It's far from rocket science, yet the inter-relationship is not as well understood by the public as one may believe. Why on earth would Global News or Globe & Mail expose such a dynamic? They would only be, as they say, "cutting off one's nose to spite one's face."
"The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make the criminal look like he's a the victim, and make the victim look like he's the criminal."
-- Malcolm X
If anything typifies mainstream media delivery in Trudeau's post-modern Canada, this is the one.
Throughout the seven-plus years that Justin Trudeau has been national leader, community demonization has remained number one on his woke political pop chart.
Authoritarian leaders of the past specialized in the “internal enemy-victim community” dynamic. Nazi-Occupied Europe, Soviet Union, Mao Tse Tung's China, Fidel Castro's Cuba.
Justin Trudeau is cut from the same cloth as despotic leaders of these nations. Participants in the Trucker's Convoy to Ottawa are "white supremacists." Parents who oppose transgenderism-for-youth propaganda in our schools are "right-wing."
His diligence in this area results in the very thing Malcolm X spoke of: the victim(Old Stock Canadians, Christians, Conservatives, Heterosexuals )are positioned by media as the criminal. Conversely, those who promote sex-change surgery for Canadian children are depicted as "freedom fighters" and those deeply concerned with "inclusivity."
It's all ass-backwards, but what else would a common-sense Canadian expect from Justin Trudeau? Take away fawning from the press, and what remains is nothing less than a communist agitator, enemy of personal freedoms, and advocate for neo-communist government control of a western democracy.
The result is that a majority of our citizenship do not trust the press. From the top-down is how outcomes like this occur. Canadians do not trust media, because we do not trust Justin Trudeau to do what is best for all Canadians. Muslims, Sikhs, Gays, Transgendered-- yes, for certain. The rest can take a permanent walk on the wild side.
According to the Digital News Report 2023, one of the most pressing concerns for the Canadian media landscape is the “more central role taken by the federal government in regulating the news media."
Has, or has not, Justin Trudeau destroyed public confidence in Canadian media? Of course he has, because at the end of the political day, our PM is a natural-born destroyer.
Trudeau is a Quebecor separatist dictator period and Covid was used to gain control over Canadians period
See all those media vultures can't wait to get some bs to further misinform the public.
