Term Limits For Prime Ministers Critical As Trudeau Moves To Dictator Status
Canadians want it, mainstream media keep it under wraps.
Over the decades, one differential between Canadian and American politics has taken on increasingly significant meaning for our country. American Presidents are limited to two-terms in office. In Canada, there is no term limit for a prime minister.
In a recent interview, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that he intends to run for a fourth consecutive term. He could win-- a victory that would stand as unprecedented in Canadian history. No prime minister has ever won four terms in office. Constitutionally speaking, there is nothing that can prevent Trudeau from pursuing a fifth or sixth term.
Away from the media spotlight, Canadian officials have been arguing for an introduction of term limits for politicians. An Angus Reid poll informs us that Canadians are in favour of this change. A majority-- 54 per cent of those polled-- say term limits for elected politicians are necessary.
Will it happen? Not if Justin Trudeau and his strategists have any influence on the matter. Furthermore, in order for public opinion to make a difference, Canadian media would have to expose this reality to the public.
They will never do it. In 2022, mainstream media work for the benefit of Justin Trudeau. They are being paid to do so. Game-over for reformation of the unlimited term concept. It makes not a speck of difference whether a majority of citizens want it or not.
Extend the scenario to every aspect of society, and we begin to understand Canada's pseudo-dictatorial nature. Under Justin Trudeau, democratic rights in Canada have been redacted to a single function: one day every four years, citizens have a right to vote for a federal government.
Apart from this, it's crackdown time in Canada. Government work the will of government-- not "the people." Under such circumstances, our country is surreptitiously being transitioned into a pseudo-dictatorship. Within this structure, Justin Trudeau is an ersatz dictator. There is no end in sight for the Liberal Party lock on society.
"If term limits were imposed, a restriction of two four-year terms is the most popular. Nearly half of all respondents say people who are sworn in as prime ministers and provincial premiers should serve no longer than eight total years in those roles."
Within this structure, the Liberal Party of Canada has our country walking a path toward an erasure of democratic governance. Another unspoken factor plays a vital role. Canadians do not vote for a prime minister-- they vote for a local MP -- which term limits should also apply to. In this capacity, a PM who has been around long enough to be despised by a majority of voters can remain as prime minister. Justin Trudeau has everything going for him in this regard.
Add to this yet another unspoken-of silver bullet. Immigration policy is buying elections for the Liberals. Never mentioned by media, long-term implications include the Liberal Party never again losing a federal election. 450,000 thousand immigrants per year should do the trick. How perplexing it is that the CBC is unable to deduce this outcome. Perhaps a $1.3 billion dollar annual pay-off has something to do with it.
From democracy to dictatorship. All signs point toward it-- except within the structure responsible for honest communication to the public-- Canadian media.
first off we need elections that are legitimate not rigged
Excellent article. Thank you. Elections have become cosmetic Hollywood theatre. In effect drama meaning nothing. Yes, Trudeau will be “elected” over and over and over again. Especially when you have the NDP part of the pretence. My curiously is why have elections? It’s insulting. Our democracy was revealed as fake with the emergency act and seized bank accounts. And our taxes go to Pravda news.
