Some immigrants play the system and bastardize the sponsorship programs. An immigrant would promise to sponsor others for 4 - 5 years so they wouldn't be a burden on society. Once the others arrived, the sponsor would declare bankruptcy and dump the others on the welfare system.

We should all be looking to see if we have long-lost relatives in Europe that we can sponsor. If each of us could find one, then that one could sponsor his/her parents, grandparents, spouse, in-laws, uncles, aunts, cousins, etc.

It's amazing that the Federal Government always seems to find money when the cause is foreign, not so much if it's for Canadians, e.g. Health Care.

Speaking of which, imagine the impact of allowing older people into Canada - they will never work and only avail themselves of our generous benefits. They feel entitled just by stepping foot on our soil. How long can this go on before we are bankrupt?
