I supervised a man from the GTA who ordered his son to kill his daughter, which he did in front of his several other adult kids and his wife. He was angry because she wanted to be like a normal Canadian teenage girl. Apparently that was too slutty for the father to permit.
Within less than 2 years into his sentence he was badgering me to write him up for Parole. He sicked his lawyer on me, whom I ignored.
The offender was a horrible snake who hated female officers and who regularly reminded me that if I was in his country I wouldn't be in the position I was in and he definitely wouldn't be in jail for what he did.
These people aren't remorseful at all. The savage behavior and beliefs don't stop at the border.
Silver lining. He died from stomach cancer in jail. He wanted a compassionate release to die at home. I refused to support that and the Parole Board agreed with me. Bye girl. Bye.

Canada does not demand enough from new immigrants for the privilege of being permitted to live in Canada ..that's correct a Privilege not a right! Many immigrants develop in their own parallel silo neighborhoods next to Canadian born citizens and never assimilate even on a basic level.They are not required to learn and internalize the culture ,history ,mores and traditions or even the languages of Canada .In fact many erroneously and cheekily expect us to adopt and accept their culture no matter how alien or offensive it is ie physical abuse of women and children,honour killings ,arranged marriage FGM ,etc which will inevitably result in conflict, resentment and xenophobia.
.In my view if immigrants commit a crime ( not a misdemeanor) in the first decade of living here they get deported immediately.I immigrated to 2 other countries from Canada and understood that I was a guest and was grateful for the opportunity and privilege .
Quebec is taking a hardline on immigration and what they expect from new arrivals .I hope the other premiers have the backbone to stand up against the K400,00 plus per annum immigrant freight train Trudeau has headed out way .
