Our beliefs exist within a matrix of impressions where every beliefs is connected to every other belief.
People do not change their beliefs because they are given new information. They will most certainly change their beliefs if they are shocked by some emotionally loaded experience. People almost invariably accept or reject new information if it doesn’t agree with already existing beliefs.
Certain things Trudeau is known to have done, in my mind make him unfit to be Prime Minister. Raise the fact in a discussion and people won’t accept the information as true. This sort of information for many cannot be believed. They will accuse the account as slander and level a bombardment of opprobrium lace invectives at the informant. This does not change their minds. In fact it has been proven to cause a reaction opposite to what you might expect — causing them to become protective of their beliefs. Not necessarily protective of the person new information is said about — but protective of their beliefs.
Pulling a thread tugs at the entire garment. Some information is so shocking — retreat — even deeper into their belief structure, is the consequence. Next time they vote they vote their beliefs; protecting their psyche from having its protective coat from being stripped away.

Canadians do not know history, theirs’ or world history. In Canada it’s OK to protest, but you have to make an appointment. You Prime Minister chose to ignore and vilify the truckers. He could have met them and no doubt persuaded them that he sympathized and promised to remove the travel restrictions as soon as he could buy his advisers were sure their were good reasons to protect Canadians. The truckers would probably have gone home. He could have thanked them for protesting and sympathized by sending them some compensatory offset, like a rebate on their taxes.
He could have admitted decision making was not as simple as it seemed or as just. They would have been gone in a few days. He could have said exactly the same thing in a public address or media scrum. Instead he resorted to state thuggery.
And Canadians seem to have accepted his incompetent “serenity!” What sort of enquiry is it in a democracy when the Prime Ministers relative is the judge of the enquiry. Even when Eastern Canada was shut down by the ice storm of January 1998 the Emergency Measure Act was not invoked.
