Muslims have a problem within their own religion for the simple reason they all have different ways to practice. Some practice Sharia, Islam , Mohamed, Koran, but when you investigate their beliefs you'll discover they preach love, kindness, tolerance and understanding...great virtues. However , these virtues aren't extended to other religions even amongst themselves. Brad, you have to be more optimistic about middle east immigration. consider what past 1st generation immigrants children experienced after arriving. they abandoned their traditional customs and assimilated with a Canadian hybrid version.
Example, take the Japanese, their kids within 1 generation completely abandoned their Japanese traditions for the Canadian/Anglo customs. Another example, Italian immigrants became disconnected from their children because they wouldn't assimilate therefore their children hid the fact they had immigrant parents who couldn't speak English.
Unfortunately, 1st gen middle eastern immigrants won't allow or assimilate into Canadian practices for the simple reason their religious dogma won't allow it therefore alienating their own children .
